Xenon HID Lighting is
the latest device in lighting. The whole idea behind Xenon High Intensity
Discharged or HID lighting is to give you daylight at night, so that you don’t
have trouble adjusting your vision as the sun goes down. A standard Xenon HID
conversion kit provides you with Xenon bulbs, HID ballast, wiring and a
standard installation manual.
Xenon lighting is
the next best thing to natural light. We find the use of Xenon lighting in
objects like street lights, billboards, car head lights, lights on pedestrian
walks and many other devices which help us see in the dark. The reason behind
the usage of Xenon HID lighting in objects like street lights is because HID
lighting provides for more light and the visibility thus increases. In halogen
lighting, even the most ordinary of objects like a bench or a fence usually gets
side-lined in the shadow, but not under Xenon HID lighting. You can see the
fence in the back and the bench ready to be sat on very clearly in Xenon HID
Lighting. That is why the latest car models have pre installed Xenon HID lights
which enable the driver to see clearly especially on unlit or poorly lit roads.
Xenon HID lighting
is not dependent upon a filament. In its place, the noble gas Xenon is filled
inside the glass bulb. The HID bulb consists of two electrodes which are made
from the metal tungsten and then an intense electric voltage charge is passed thereby
creating an arc between the two electrodes. This arc ignites the gas Xenon which
causes light to be emitted from the bulb. And unlike halogen lights where the
filament glows against glass and produces light, in Xenon HID light bulbs,
where the high voltage current used xenon gas emanates a light which can be
compared to sun light. Further the lighting from Xenon HID consumes a little
over 30 watts and gives you light 3 times more than any other man-made
lighting.
What a xenon lamp
requires is a starter to ignite and electronic ballast for it to function
properly.
